Growth is necessary, yet it can also be incredibly uncomfortable - even painful. At times, we may become so overwhelmed that the pain and the discomfort is all we can focus on. We mustn't forget the end goal, and why we started out on our journey. We mustn't forget that is we who asked for growth. We mustn't forget that the journey of growth is a gift.
Some search for eternal enlightenment, yet never find it. Some work their whole lives to kill the ego for good, only to find remnants of it hidden in dark corners that the light hasn't spread to. Do not feel as though you have failed, do not become overwhelmed. We are all spiritual beings living out human experiences, thus the ego is a part of us that we all must face. Enlightenment is always the goal, but there is beauty to be found along the journey, long before we ever reach that mystical place that seems so far away.
If you find yourself feeling downtrodden along your journey, take a step back, reflect, and look for the beauty in the struggle. The beauty can come in many forms, and is often sprouting up along our paths. It is our task to keep our eyes open and our hearts ready to find the beauty, even when it seems like we are in the darkest of places.
Even the dark night of the soul comes with a gift - more growth, more enlightenment, more grounding.
Are you struggling on your journey? I want to hear all about it, but I challenge you to spot the beauty along the way. Oftentimes, a shift in perception, a gentle sign, or a kind reminder is all we need to shine the light and assure us that we've been on the right path all along.
